TV Sit Kick Ball
A ball, a floor, and someone to kick it back. The game does the coaxing while the trunk does the work. Here is what it builds and what to watch for at home.
A game that doubles as trunk work.
Sitting on the floor and kicking a ball back and forth keeps a child upright without hands propping them up, which is real work for the trunk even though it looks like play. Every kick shifts the weight and the trunk has to catch it. Watch for a tall back rather than a slump, hands off the floor if your child can manage it, and both legs taking turns. Use the sitting position shown in the video rather than letting your child settle into whatever is easiest.
This is a general movement idea, not a personal program. Your child's own home program should come from the therapist who has evaluated them. Call us at (914) 939-6400 →
