Questions picture

What Forms of Payment Does Developmental Steps Accept?

Credit card, cash or check. Statements are sent out monthly; except for special community based programs where payment is required at time of registration.

Does Developmental Steps Accept Insurance?

Developmental Steps Physical Therapy is an Insurance Friendly practice that works with many insurances to help parents get the services their child needs covered. As a Pediatric Physical Therapy practice we have a high success rate in obtaining insurance exemptions for therapy services for kids.

We have had great success with:

  • Anthem BCBS
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield – Omnicom
  • Cigna
  • Empire Plan – Orthonet
  • GEHA – Orthonet
  • Magnacare
  • Optum
  • SWSCHP
  • United Healthcare/NYS Empire Plan
  • United Healthcare/Oxford

In doing this, we help to limit the out of pocket expenses for you and your family; this will be based on your insurance plan (Deductibles and Copays/Co-insurances).

Does Developmental Steps Provide Early Intervention (EI) and/or CPSE (preschool ages 3-5) Services?

We do not provide EI or CPSE services through the State of New York. At this time we are not public providers for these services. We have a couple of school contracts to provide CSE (school age) but it depends on the district.  Many families come to us in addition to their EI or CPSE services as their child may not be making the progress they are looking to see or there may be lag time in finding a provider.  We are happy to assist or complement in any way we can!

What do I Need to Bring?

New York State Law requires all children receiving physical therapy services have a physician’s prescription. Developmental Steps requests that due to the large number of children seen at this center and the varied allergies and sensitivities, outside foods and drink are not brought in. Children should eat prior to their session.

What is the Length of Treatment Sessions?

Individual sessions are 45 minutes; group session length may vary.

What Should My Child Wear?

Comfortable clothes appropriate for play (shorts and tee shirt).

What is Developmental Steps Cancellation Policy?

24 hour notice is requested. We reserve the right to charge with less than 24 hours notice.
