What does occupational therapy in Port Chester and Mt Kisco actually do?
Occupational therapy is a separate license from physical therapy, and it asks a different question. Not can your child move, but can your child participate. Our occupational therapists (OTR/L) and certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA/L) work through play, because play is how children practise without knowing they are practising. Sessions are individual, 45 minutes, and built around goals you and your child care about, whether that is holding a pencil for a whole worksheet or sitting through a haircut. Families already receiving Early Intervention or CPSE services often come to us for support alongside those programs, and we are here for families who do not want to wait out an approval process.
