Developmental Steps, LLC ("Developmental Steps," "we," "us" or "our") operates the website at developmentalsteps.com. This policy explains what information the website collects, how that information is used and shared, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. It does not govern your child's clinical record, which is handled separately under applicable state and federal health privacy law, including HIPAA.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to give us. When you submit the appointment request form or any other form on this site, that means your name, your phone number, your email address and whatever you write in the message field. We ask you not to include detailed medical information in a website form. This site is not a patient portal and it is not a secure channel for protected health information. If you need to discuss clinical detail, call us instead.

We also receive limited technical information automatically when you browse, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view. This is standard web server and analytics data. We do not use it to build a profile of you as an individual.

How Form Submissions Are Handled

Forms on this site are processed by Netlify, the service that hosts the website. Netlify receives your submission, stores it, and passes it on to us. Submissions are then routed into the customer relationship management system the practice uses to manage enquiries and appointment requests. Both providers process this information on our behalf, under their own contractual and security obligations, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use what you send us to reply to you, to schedule and confirm appointments, to answer questions about services and coverage, and to follow up on a request you started. We may use aggregated, non-identifying information to understand which pages people find useful and to improve the site. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Text Messages and Your Consent

The appointment request form includes a separate, unchecked consent box for text messages. Ticking it is your express written consent to receive SMS messages from Developmental Steps at the mobile number you provide. Consent is not a condition of booking, of purchase, or of receiving care. If you leave the box unticked, we will simply contact you by phone or email instead.

The messages you consent to are conversational and appointment related: confirming a request, arranging a time, reminding you of a visit, or replying to something you asked. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to any message to opt out, and you will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP for help, or call (914) 939-6400. You can also ask us by phone to remove your number from any list at any time.

We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Text message originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party other than the providers we use to send the messages on our behalf.

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand traffic in aggregate, such as how many people visited a page and which pages they moved between. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not behave correctly if you do.

Third Parties We Rely On

To run this website and respond to you we use a website host and form processor, a customer relationship management system, an analytics provider, an embedded Google map, and embedded video from YouTube. Embedded content from another company is governed by that company's own privacy policy while it is loading and playing. Links from this site to other websites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not control.

Children

Developmental Steps treats infants, children and teenagers, but this website is written for the adults who care for them. Forms should be completed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has submitted information here, call us at (914) 939-6400 and we will delete it.

How Long We Keep It

Website enquiries are kept for as long as reasonably needed to answer you, to schedule care, and to meet our own recordkeeping obligations. When information is no longer needed for those purposes it is deleted or archived.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to submissions is limited to staff and providers who need it to do their job. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, which is another reason not to send clinical detail through a web form.

Your Choices

You may ask us what website information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and out of any other contact by telling us. None of these choices affect your ability to book with us or the care your child receives. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we do, the revised version is posted on this page with a new effective date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
