Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 13, 2026
These terms govern your use of developmentalsteps.com, the website operated by Developmental Steps, LLC ("Developmental Steps," "we," "us" or "our"). By visiting the site, browsing its pages or submitting a form, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
The Site Is General Information, Not Medical Advice
Everything published here, including page copy, articles, exercise descriptions, videos and downloadable or embedded material, is general educational information about pediatric physical and occupational therapy. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan for any particular child. Children present differently, and an exercise or suggestion that is appropriate for one child can be inappropriate or unsafe for another.
Always consult your pediatrician or a licensed clinician about your child's specific situation before acting on anything you read here. Never delay seeking medical advice, or disregard advice you have already been given, because of something you saw on this site. If your child has a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
No Therapist and Patient Relationship
Using this site, reading its content, watching a video, sending us a message or submitting the appointment request form does not create a therapist and patient relationship between you and Developmental Steps or any of its clinicians. That relationship begins only when your child has been formally accepted as a patient, an evaluation has been scheduled, and the required paperwork is in place, including the physician's prescription that New York State law requires for pediatric physical therapy services.
Do not send confidential or detailed medical information through this website. Website forms are not a secure channel for protected health information, and information you send through them is not treated as a clinical record until it becomes part of one.
Acceptable Use
You may use this site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to use it in any way that is unlawful, harmful or disruptive. That includes attempting to gain unauthorised access to the site or its underlying systems, interfering with its operation, introducing malicious code, scraping or harvesting content or contact details, submitting false information or another person's information through a form, sending unsolicited commercial messages, or impersonating anyone. We may restrict or block access to the site at any time, without notice, if we believe it is being misused.
Intellectual Property
The content of this site, including its text, page design, layout, graphics, logos, photography and video, is owned by Developmental Steps or used by us with permission, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may view pages, and print or download a copy for your own personal reference. You may not otherwise copy, republish, distribute, sell, modify or create derivative works from any part of the site, or use the Developmental Steps name or logo, without our prior written permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Third-Party Links and Embedded Content
This site links to other websites and embeds content from third parties, including maps and video. Those links and embeds are provided for convenience and information only. We do not control those sites or services, we do not endorse everything they contain, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, security or privacy practices. Any product mentioned on this site is named because our therapists find that kind of item useful, not as a guarantee, and your use of a third-party site or product is at your own risk and subject to that party's own terms.
Accuracy and Availability
We work to keep this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error free or up to date at any given moment. Services, staff and details can change. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice, and we do not warrant that access will be uninterrupted or that the site will be free of harmful components.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or the results obtained from using the site. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Developmental Steps, LLC and its owners, employees, contractors and clinicians will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything you obtained from it, whether the claim is based in contract, negligence or any other theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Developmental Steps, LLC and its owners, employees and contractors from any claim, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your violation of the rights of any other person.
Privacy
Information you submit through this site is handled as described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of this site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Westchester County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site after that date means you accept the revised terms.
