Patient Care Coordinator Jobs
You are the calm voice a worried parent hears on the phone and the first face they see when they arrive. This is the front desk role at a therapist owned pediatric physical therapy practice, in person at our Mt Kisco clinic, part time with room to grow. If you are organized, warm and good with people on a hard day, keep reading.
What a patient care coordinator does here.
Families arrive at a pediatric clinic carrying more than a prescription. They are worried, they are usually running late, and they have a two year old with them. The coordinator is the person who makes that whole experience feel handled. It is an administrative job on paper and a care job in practice.
The welcome
Greeting patients and families with warmth and professionalism, and being a calm, confident voice on the phone for new patients and concerned parents who are not always sure what they are asking for yet.
The schedule
Registering and scheduling patients in our EMR system and keeping the day moving, so therapists get clean transitions between appointments instead of a scramble at the door.
The insurance side
Handling verifications and authorizations, and helping families understand billing and what their own plan actually covers. This is the part that saves parents the most stress, and the part they thank you for.
The room itself
Keeping the office organized and clean, and supporting the therapists with office tasks as needed. Small things, done consistently, are what make a clinic feel like somewhere you would bring your own child.
Organized, proactive, and genuinely warm.
At least one year in a medical office, customer service or administrative role is required. Experience with EMR systems and insurance authorizations is preferred, and prior work in a physical therapy or pediatric clinic is a real plus. Past that, what matters is strong communication, because you will be working closely with parents, patients and therapists every day, excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask without losing accuracy, and a team first attitude from someone who actually likes being around children and families.
The details, then the easy part.
Pay is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour based on experience. The role is a minimum of 20 hours a week with flexible scheduling, including 4 hour or 8 hour shifts, and no weekends are required. Work is in person at our Mt Kisco clinic. Paid time off is included, and most of the team has been here two or more years, which is not an accident.
