Developmental Steps is looking for a friendly and energetic Administrator/Medical Receptionist to join our amazing team!

Developmental Steps is always looking to grow our amazing team. We have two great locations in Mount Kisco and Port Chester, and also serve numerous schools in Central Westchester County. At this time we are looking for a Medical Receptionist to help assist our Pediatric Physical Therapists in a clinical setting.

We are looking for a Rockstar!:

*Administrator minimum 15 hrs/week with Medical Receptionist Responsibilities in NY.
*Someone with experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
*Phone Skills Are important and having a calming and confident voice with new patients and nervous parents are a must.
*Other responsibilities include: greeting patients, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and helping the physical therapists transition between patients.
*Flexibility is a must, as we truly believe we are a team and should be open to helping out in a pinch.

My partner and I own and operate a very successful pediatric physical therapy clinic here in Port Chester. Over the past 18 years, we have been able to help 1000s of local children.

We are looking for an individual who can…

  • Learn the ins and outs of how a physical therapy clinic works.
  • Assist the therapy team with bringing patients back for their sessions, keep the office clean and organized, register and schedule patients in our EMR, verify insurances and help with authorizations, and other daily tasks.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • After school
  • Day shift

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: Successful completion of orientation and on-the-job training according to department guidelines.
  • Qualifications: Ability to interact with and assist therapists in the treatment of infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment

  • Position requires the ability to move about freely at least 85 percent of the time.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended/prolonged periods
  • Frequently moves/transports objects up to fifty (50) pounds and must be able to move patients of all weights with
  • a minimum of one (1) assist or assistive device/equipment
  • Must be able to work in an environment with continuous interruptions
  • Must be able to assess and respond to rapidly changing situational needs of patients
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to detect sounds and respond to emergency sounds/signals at all times
  • Must be able to constantly operate computers, equipment, and other devices
  • The position requires the ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruptions and attend to tasks for more than sixty (60) minutes at a time.

  • Neonatal (birth – 28 days)
  • Patients with exceptional communication needs
  • Infant (29 days – less than 1 year)
  • Pediatric (1 – 12 years)
