Ways to make sure baby is looking around

Tummy time is the foundation for your baby’s motor development. Help your baby learn to love and look forward to tummy time. Supervised tummy time is recommended as early as 2-3 weeks old using a Boppy pillow or a rolled blanket under the chest.

At first your child might become easily fatigued because it is a lot of work to lift their head up.  Use motivating toys in front of your child to encourage him/her to lift their head.  The more practice you give your baby, the stronger their muscles will get and the easier tummy time will be for them.  When your baby is able to lift his/her head more consistently for longer periods of time, you can begin moving toys side to side to encourage your baby to look around.
